A couple of Colombians are currently top favorites for Tour de France odds, and this means that the South American country has a lot of chances of getting the honors of crowning a champion this year.
Let’s see who those two South American racers are:
Doubtlessly, the top contender from Colombia to get the yellow shirt this time is 29-year-old Nairo Quintana of Movistar.
He was the winner of the Giro d’Italia back in 2014, and then got the victory at the Vuelta a España in 2016, plus, he has made it to the Tour podium three times.
He finished 10th overall at the Tour last year and has been dealing with some internal team issues.
But, according to those in the know, he’s still a Tour de France betting favorite because he’s been finishing at the top 10 of the latest cycling competitions, such as the Dauphine, San Juan, Tour Colombia, Paris-Nice, and the Volta a Catalunya.

He managed to win the Tour de Suisse, and that resume makes him an undeniable favorite of Tour de France odds.
He also won Paris-Nice earlier this year and was given a lot of chances of winning the Giro d’Italia before suffering a race-ending injury.
But he’s part of a group that has been quite dominating at the Tour, having won six of the previous seven editions.
Many honestly believe this dominance will continue this year, and with a cyclist such as Bernal, that’s a big possibility.
With that said, Bernal is second in leadership at his team, with Geraint Thomas being number one.
On this, the Colombian mentioned that “I will go with G, he will be our leader, I will try to help him, and if he is better than me I will help him. I don’t have any problems to help him, I am just 22 years old and have a lot of Tours in front of me.”
