New Young Coach

In 2017, the Tennessee Titans compiled a winning record, made the playoffs, and even got a playoff upset win before being eliminated by the eventual AFC champion New England Patriots. Despite all that, they still ended up parting ways with their head coach Mike Mularkey. It was originally thought that the Titans would replace Mularkey with a more offensive-minded head coach who would play to the team's strengths, but in the end they decided on Mike Vrabel, who was formerly the defensive coordinator for the Houston Texans. Vrabel's hiring makes an interesting scenario for anyone wanting to do Tennessee Titans betting this season. A rookie coach who was playing in the NFL as a linebacker for the Kansas City Cheifs as recently as 2010, Vrabel has risen through the ranks faster than perhaps any other coach in recent memory. After retiring, he spent 3 years as an assistant coach at Ohio State before joining the Texans. Will his inexperience cost the Titans their third consecutive playoff appearance? Or will his young energy vault the Titans into the ring of NFL elite teams who compete for Super Bowl titles? Still the same

In the offseason, the Titans acquired running back Dion Lewis and cornerback Malcolm Butler from the Patriots and added Alabama Linebacker Rashaan Evans in the draft. That was it for major additions, as the Titans seem to think they have the team they need for success in 2018. The Titans have a lot of their positions locked up, namely offensive tackle. Taylor Lewan and Jack Conklin are two of the best offensive tackles in the NFL, and look to have that position sewn down for the next several years Also on offense, pairing of Lewis with Derrick Henry should catch opposing defenses' attention. The addition of Lewis provides a great complement for Henry, making up for Henry's lack of pass receiving ability.

Quarterback Locked Down

Titans QB Marcus Mariota is coming into his third season in the NFL at only 24 years old. After a decorated college career, he has improved with every season in the NFL. With the Titans, he has a lot of offensive options around him and a coordinator who is in tune to his strengths. Among those options available to Mariota are a very young group of wide receivers. Number one among them is last year's standout Rishard Matthews, who had a surprisingly good season. Behind Matthews are Corey Davis, Taywan Taylor, and Tajae Sharpe. All are heading into their second years in the NFL and still carry large potential. However, the potential is just that. The Titans are gambling on this group and have no real guarantee that they will have success. Besides Matthews, no receiver is proven. There is a lot of potential, but this group will need to step up in order for the Tennessee Titans to be successful in 2018.

Enter Dez Bryant?

Due to the uncertainty at the running back position, the Titans have emerged as a favorite to land former Dallas Cowboy wide receiver Dez Bryant. With their top two receivers in Corey Davis and Rishard Matthews limited during OTAs, the Titans could make a splash move by bringing Bryant to the Music City. Bryant had six receiving touchdowns last season, which is about as many as the entire WR corps of the Titans had all last year. Bryant has said that he hopes to sign a one-year, prove-it deal with a team of his choice, which also suits the Titans in the case that Bryant doesn't work out. Should the Titans in fact sign him, it would greatly improve their outlook for 2018.
